Dates
Now - April 3: Sign ups are open for offering items for the auction
April 4 - April 18: Bidding is live
April 19: Bid winners contacted to donate
May 3: Donation proof due to CONfab
All creations due by October 22, 2020!
How does the CONfab Auction work?
Creators will offer items for bidding and then people who want those items will bid on them. Sign-up sheets are currently live on the CONfab Dreamwidth. After the offer period ends we'll create a post with a list of the items up for offer. People will then be able to bid within the comment thread starting on April 4th until April 18th. Further instructions on bidding will be included in the offer post.
What items can be offered in the CONfab Auction?
Art (Digital, painting, sculpture, etc)
Crafts (knitting, cross-stitch, collages, etc.)
Fan Labor (Beta, editors, link wrangling, Brit-picking etc.)
Fic
Podfic
Vids
How many things can I offer at auction?
Three total, across all categories. If you’re offering something small we can have some wiggle room on this, but we want to be sure that all items are finished and delivered by October 22nd.
Where will the donations go?
You can choose to donate to either the Restaurant Workers' Community Foundation's COVID-19 Relief Fund or the National Domestic Workers Alliance's Coronavirus Care Fund. If you have a local COVID-19 cause you'd prefer to support, that is fine as well!
How will you know I donated?
We will require proof of donation by May 3rd. Please send a screenshot without identifying information to auction@confabcon.com.
