Hello ConFab people!

I heard that the Tumblr corporate overlords are up to shenanigans (not the good kind) and that several folks are coming to DW as an alternative.

Seeing so much activity on DW over the past few days made me think of my fannish friends from ConFab and I began wondering if you were thinking of using DW, too. If so, please join in this post to connect with other ConFab attendees. Past, present, and future attendees are welcome!

I'm the one who...: is anxious to attend my first ConFab and trying to find out the 2019 date.

Other platforms: When I tried to register on AO3, it wouldn't accept my spelling of ride_4ever, so on AO3 I'm Ride_Forever.

Active/primary interests or fandoms: dSC6D (due South and Canadian Six Degrees).

I post and I read posts: as frequently as time allows (which isn't a very specific answer, I know, but that's how my life goes).

I want to find people that post about: I don't want to give a very limiting answer on this one. I prefer reading posts about dSC6D, sure, but if you're in my DW circle I'll look at whatever you post as time allows.

LOL - meaning I knew a lot of people who were into the fandom "back in LJ days". I did wind up watching the show because so many people were fans - and I did enjoy it tremendously. Especially Dief. ♥

ETA: Yes, I have seen that vid!! It's fantastic! I am a former attendee of VividCon, although I didn't make it in person the last few years.

"Back in the LJ days" yes. Actually I got into due South and into LJ at almost exactly the same time.

When were you still going to VividCon? I started in 2013.

I had to go check my posts because I couldn't remember. My last in-person VividCon was 2012 (the year the vid Starships was born!)

Ah. Then I missed meeting you by one year...and it was because of due South. I was registered for the 2012 VividCon...that was actually supposed to be my first VividCon...but then the RCW 139 concomm announced the date for the 2012 RCW 139 (the all due South con in Toronto) and it was the same time as VividCon...and due South is always first in my heart, so I had to cancel my 2012 VividCon attendance and went to Toronto.

Sounds like a very reasonable reason to me. :)
Now that very same hotel hosts ConFabCon! So, it'll be a familiar venue if/when you're able to attend next year.

I will totes be there for ConFabCon in October 2019 (I already wrote "ConFabCon" at the top of the October page on my 2019 calendar). And when I first learned that it would be at what was formerly the VividCon hotel I gave a little squee of delight at the familiarity of it.
